The chakras are spirals of light that bring energy into the body and remove old energy from the body. There are seven major chakras that most people work with. Use clear quartz crystal for all chakras. Agates, Jaspers, Calcites, Tourmalines, Fluorites, and Quartz come in many natural colors and can be used with the chakras whose color they relate to. All stones seek to harmonize and balance energy in some beneficial way, and their individual qualities may or may not be useful for you at any particular time. If you feel a certain stone should or should not be used with a chakra, regardless of color or type, go with your instincts.

Location: Crown of the head. Color: violet or white. Element: thought/will/bliss. Senses: all senses including cosmic consciousness. Functions: vitalizes the upper brain. Sound: “ti”. Qualities: oneness with the infinite, spiritual, will, wisdom and understanding. Stones: clear quartz, white howlite, moonstone, amethyst. Clear, white & purple stones.
Sixth: Third Eye Chakra
Location: Pineal Gland. Front: between eyebrows, center of forehead. Color: indigo, purple, sometimes yellow. Element: light/mind. Sense: all senses including esp. Functions: vitalizes the lower brain and central nervous system, vision. Sound: “la”. Qualities: intuition, insight, peace of mind, imagination, concentration. Stones: Lapis Lazuli, amethyst, iolite, moonstone, citrine. Clear, white, purple stones; some yellow stones.

Location: throat. Color: sky/ice blue or turquoise. Element: ether/atmosphere. Sense: hearing. Functions: speech, sounds, vibration, communication. Sound: “so”. Qualities: power of the spoken word, any creative expression, peace, truth, loyalty, honesty, kindness. Stones: blue lace agate, lapis lazuli, sodalite, turquoise, iolite. Blue, blue-green and blue-purple stones.

Location: Center of the chest. Color: green or pink. Element: air. Sense: feeling, touch. Functions: energizes the body with the life force, blood circulation. Sound: “fa”. Qualities: unconditional love, forgiveness, compassion, understanding, oneness with life, harmony, contentment. Stones: green aventurine, jade, rose quartz, rhodonite. Pink and green stones.
Third: Solar Plexus Chakra
Location: Upper abdomen, above the navel, below the chest.. Color: yellow. Element: fire. Sense: sight. Sound: “me”. Functions: digestive processes, metabolism, emotions, sympathetic nervous system. Qualities: will, personal power, energy, self-control, warmth, humor, laughter. Stones: citrine, yellow calcite, ambronite, tiger’s eye, peridot. Yellow and yellow-green stones.
Second: Sacral Chakra
Location: lower abdomen to naval area. Color: orange. Element: water. Sense: taste. Functions: procreation, assimilation of food, physical vitality, sexuality. Sound: “re”. Qualities: giving and receiving, emotions, desire, pleasure, passionate love, movement, health, family, tolerance, surrender. Stones: carnelian, red jasper, orange agate, orange aventurine. Red and orange stones.
