As a gridworker with earth’s energy fields, I have always come back to working with clear quartz, in any form. Quartz has a molecular structure that is based in the star tetrahedron, the core geometric of our world.

When I started working with stones, I began with quartz, and only quartz. I started by working through the chakras, placing a piece of quartz on one chakra at a time a focusing on what were my feelings: what did it feel like energetically. After I had worked with each chakra separately, I started combining the stones, first pairing two at a time – seeing what it felt like when I cleared and balanced the third eye and the sacral, or the third eye and the crown. Next I placed a quartz on each of the three higher chakras, then each of the three lower chakras. And, finally, one simultaneously on each chakra, working to help each chakra work harmoniously in community.

At each phase, I would watch and feel the quartz points set about balancing a chakra, and then the chakra pairings with each other. As the field balanced, various issues simply dissipated and disappeared. This is the knowledge, I later learned, that gridworkers know so well how to do. They are able to clear, balance, strengthen and stabilize a field of energy via the lines of energy involved in the situation. Quartz is an excellent assistant for that work. Today I work directly with the lines of energy, along with the aware life forms who occupy any field of energy. But to start with, I needed a physical stimulus, and for me that was quartz.

You can start with any quartz you have around. Your selection partly depends on your own orientation and that of your community. I started with Brazilian quartz, which I find to be very gentle with a clear access to the higher planes of consciousness in a metaphysical or spiritual way. I was coming to this work from years of meditational yoga training, so that was a natural affinity for me.

Next I worked with Arkansas quartz, which helps to ground the metaphysical into the subtle physical world in a very “clean” and balanced way; Arkansas quartz is an excellent choice for these times, when we are being asked to bring our spirituality into the world.

Lastly, I approached Moroccan quartz, which had until then always frightened me a bit. I found, for myself, that the Moroccan can enter into a very deep level of metaphysical balance. To work with it, though, I had to first wish to understand and experience the energetic reality that dark and light energies are, in reality, simply two aspects of the one infinite source. When you do not understand this, Moroccan quartz can seem a bit sinister. It is an excellent and benign teacher for this energetic lesson.

Make sure you clear your quartz on a regular basis, especially after an intense session. When I started, I would rest the quartz I worked with on sea salt over night, then rinse the quartz and throw out the sea salt (down the drain), as an energetic debris has been drawn out of the quartz and into the salt – reusing the salt might put that energy back into the quartz. That enables the quartz to be clear and most effective as a channel for energy.

If you’d like to experiment with this, select seven crystals and designate one for each chakra. We can help you at Crystal Life – either via our website, in the store or if you call, one of our knowledgeable staff can assist you and put together a nice set. You can choose from tiny beautiful crystals to the very special Lemurian Crystals.
