They measure between 2″ and 2.5″ wide and between 2.5″ and 3″ in length

Historical Folklore

Wulfenite was first described in 1845 after being observed in Carinthia, Austria.

Wulfenite was named after the Austrian Mineralogist Franz Xavier von Wulfen.

Often associated with Sagittarius, Aries, and Scorpios, Wulfenite encourages peace and healing especially well to those with these signs while supporting their inner courage.

Geology

Wulfenite is a secondary mineral formed through the oxidation of minerals found in hydrothermal Lead Deposits and as a result it is often found near lead ore deposits alongside smithsonite, hemimorphite, vanadinite, .  Pure Wulfenite is a colorless crystal however, because it is formed through oxidation along with numerous other minerals, it takes on its characteristic fiery yellow-red hue from the presence of impurities within the crystals. First observed in Austria very high quality Wulfenite specimens have since been found in Arizona and has now been named the states gemstone since 2017. Wulfenite has many different localities with notable deposits being found Austria, England, Slovenia, Colorado, and Arizona.

Bathe in full moonlight regularly to energize crystals. Cleanse regularly by placing your Medium Wulfenite Specimen on a piece of selenite or by moving through the smoke of sage. These stones should not come in contact with water as it tends to weaken the structure of the specimen.

Raw Wulfenite Specimens can be quite brittle and it is common for them to drop number of small crystals from handling or during shipping.
