White Onyx Pendant | Square | 3/8″
Onyx gets it’s name from the Greek word onux, meaning fingernail. The legend says that one day Cupid cut the fingernails of Venus with an arrowhead while she was asleep. Cupid carelessly left the clippings scattered on the sand and the fates turned them into stone so that no part of the goddess would ever perish. At that time onyx was white, brown, & black and today is more commonly found in shades of brown and black.
