Abstract Larimar Pendant
Our Abstract Larimar Pendants are made here at Crystal Life using top quality gemstone beads on silver-toned jewelers metal. Each of these Larimar Pendants have nice aqua blue color with varying degrees of brown to black inclusions throughout and have a soft surface finish. These pendants are “Abstract” in shape, resembling the irregular curves and corners of a tumbled stone. They measure 1″ from the top of the pendants bail to the base of the gemstone with the gemstone bead measuring on average about 1/2″ tall and 3/8″ wide.

Larimar was discovered in 1919 by Father Miguel Domingo Fuertes Loren of the Barahona Parish in the Dominican Republic.

Geology
Larimar is a variety of the silicate mineral Pectolite which itself is a soft mineral with a gray to white color that forms within hydrothermal cavities often alongside stones like Zeolite, Prehnite and Calcite. The only known source of Larimar is near the city of Barahona in the Dominican Republic. This stone is recognized for its varying shades of blue but has also been found in shades of green and violet.
