Geology

Moonstone is considered a type of feldspar mineral. It is notable for its white, pearly coloration. This stone has been found in the Southwest United States. Historically, the most valuable and transparent moonstone specimens that had a very strong blue flash came from Myanmar. Today, most commercial specimens come from Sri Lanka.
