We’ve been able to source some very large, good quality tumbled Emerald. These tumbled Emeralds vary in size, color and clarity  with most falling between 7/8″ and 1.5″ in length with a pale to deep forest like green and black inclusions throughout. Also Known as Green Beryl, this stone is often difficult to find at a good price for metaphysical use because gem grade specimens are extremely prized by the jewelry industry.

Shakespeare once said that emerald “soothed the eyes.” 

Ivan the Terrible believed emerald was an enemy of uncleanness. 

The Incas prized emerald as a stone representing the “green Earth”, the last Inca King wore a crown set with 453 emeralds, which weighed 1,525 karats. 

Emerald was placed under the tongue to induce prophetic vision during the Middle Ages.

Geology

Emerald Is a precious green variety of Beryl, similar in constitution to Aquamarine (Blue Beryl), Morganite (Pink Beryl), and Heliodor (Golden Beryl). Beryl’s are Silicate minerals with a hexagonal crystal structure. Pure Beryl Is a colorless mineral but it is usually colored by impurities resulting in the different forms of beryl we see more frequently than colorless specimens. Emerald gets its striking green color from the presence of chromium and vanadium. They have been mined all over the world throughout history but today most emeralds commercially available are mined in the towns of Muzo, Coscuez, and Chivor, Colombia followed by the second largest exporter of emeralds in the world , Zambia.

Bathe in full moonlight regularly to energize crystals. Cleanse regularly by placing on a piece of selenite or by moving through the smoke of sage. These stones can be gently washed with soap and water if necessary.
