Bloodstone has been a vital stone in the history of human beings for centuries. Mined for over 5,000 years, Bloodstone has been prized as jewelry, cups, insignias, as a talisman, and for its “magical” properties. At one time in history, Bloodstone’s magical properties included invisibility, healing a nosebleed, controlling the weather, and preserving health and youth. 

Bloodstone is known as the hero’s stone, as heliotrope, and blood jasper. This multi-colored stone helps you recognize the benefit of turmoil prior to renewal. Bloodstone is known to help with courage and encourages you not to be selfish. It helps to calm your mind so you can make better decisions. 

Historical Folklore. 

Believed to control the weather and banish evil by the ancients. 

Called the Stone of Babylon by Alexander the Great.

Ancient magicians believed it could make them invisible. 

Because of the red flecks of blood, for a time bloodstone was called, “Christ’s Stone.”

Bloodstone can be classified as quartz or a chalcedony but is actually a combination of the two.
