Geology

Aragonite is an orthorhombic carbonate crystal, one of the most abundant types of calcium carbonate minerals found throughout the world along with calcite. It is the main component of many organic substances, such as pearls and hard coral structures and the shells of nearly all mollusk species known today. The surface of Pearl and mother-of-pearl is actually a layer of Aragonite secreted by mollusks and other related invertebrates. It can be found in white, brown, or blue.

Bathe in full moonlight regularly to energize crystals. Cleanse regularly by placing on a piece of selenite or by moving through the smoke of sage. Aragonite readily dissolves in water so elixirs and washing with water are not recommended.
