White Onyx
White Onyx helps you to be in full mastery of your own energy. This stone is helpful to discern and align yourself with higher powers. It makes for an excellent crown chakra stone, especially when seeking to ground universal energies for your own personal use.
Historical Folklore
One myth claims that Onyx was created when Eros clipped the nails of the Roman goddess Venus while she slept. When separated from her hand, they turned to Onyx on earth. Onyx is also the Greek word for “claw” and “fingernail.”
Since ancient times, Onyx has been used as both a decorative stone and the base of art and sculpture. White and Black Onyx were often paired together for ornamental purposes.
Geology
Onyx is classified as a Chalcedony stone. Geologically, it is considered a type of Agate. Onyx can be found in black or white. It can be found in the United States, Mexico, Italy, Russia, South Africa, and Brazil.
Chakra Association
This stone is associated with the third eye and crown chakras.
Care
You can place this stone in full moon moonlight to energize. It can also be moved through sage smoke or incense, placed in rice, or buried in the earth over night.
Astrological Association
This stone is associated with Leo.
Health Folklore
White Onyx supports the functions of the kidneys and eyes. It can strengthen hair as well as the bones.

Does white onxy changes colour based on the surroundings, light or ppl, and if so what do the colours mean?
Hello Kenroy. White onyx is a translucent stone and so picks up reflected color from the objects around it. It also can be affected by environmental issues, such as a lot of handling by oily or dirty hands. White onyx is sometimes stained and then it switches over to color therapy, which associates different colors with different qualities, on top of the white onyx energetic base. If the white onyx is very translucent and you turn it to catch the light, it can have a colored shimmer. That gets very technical, and you would have to decide for yourself if there is any quality or message for you.
