June marks the beginning of summer, bringing weddings and new opportunities. Many believe June to be named after the Roman goddess Juno, who represented womanhood and marriage. Because of this, this month has historically considered an auspicious time for brides and brides-to-be. Interestingly, many of June’s birthstones encourage happiness, faith, and purity. Here are the historical birthstones of June:

Pearl 

The modern birthstone for June in the West, pearl promotes faith, purity, and personal integrity. Pearl is connected to water and moon energy, making it a good stone to help balance your emotions. It is also thought to be useful for connecting to goddess energy.

Cat’s Eye

Turquoise

The ancient Arabic birthstone for June, chalcedony is known as a speaker stone for its ability to help with speaking. Chalcedony promotes calm and serenity, especially in small children.
