Impression Jasper (Variscite) is a stone of tranquility and encouragement. This is a stone that unifies lives and reminds people to help one another. This stone also aids quick thinking and restores energy after recovering from an illness.

Historical Folklore

Impression Jasper’s other name, Variscite, comes from Vogtland, Germany, which was formally known as Variscia. It was first discovered there in 1837.

Variscite has been referred to as Utahlite for its notable presence in Utah. Its other name, variquoise, refers to it commonly being found with turquoise and having a similar coloration.

Healers have used this stone to balance energies of the heart and relieve body strains.

Many have looked to Impression Jasper to overcome periods of despair.

Geology

Impression Jasper is actually Variscite and not part of the Jasper family of stones. It can be found in Germany, Austria, Bolivia, the Czech Republic, and Australia, as well as the southwest United States. It is often found in tandem with turquoise. This stone’s coloration ranges from blues to greens with spots of white or brown.

Chakra Association

Impression Jasper is connected with the earth star, base, sacral, solar plexus, and throat chakras. Jasper is capable of cleansing and aligning all the chakras.

Care

You can place this stone in full moon moonlight to energize. It can also be moved through sage smoke or incense, placed in rice, or buried in the earth overnight.

Astrological Association

Impression Jasper is associated with Taurus, Scorpio, and Gemini.

Health Folklore

Impression Jasper is believed to help strengthen muscles and tissues. It can also aid the skeleton and nervous system. This stone supports sobriety.
