Green men and green women are real life forms. I frequently encounter them in the woods when I go exploring for communicative trees. As in all relationships, interactions depend upon the meeting of two personalities. In my case, interactions are warm, friendly, companionable, and informative. It’s like getting together with family.

Greenman from GenevaThe green people are affected by what is going on around them, just like we are. Their surroundings change them. For example, in Geneva, Illinois – my home and work area – I communicate frequently with a refined green man who resides in a black walnut in a local park. At this point, we can communicate without my needing to go to the park to physically visit him. Because, he explains, he is part of the green people community who reside throughout the area. They communicate on what looks like a grid – a frequency grid where their thoughts can be sent.

Poinciana Greenman

I greatly enjoyed meeting and communicating with a green man who lives in a poinciana tree in Jamaica, WI.

I was visiting with family down there, and his tree kept calling on me to come stay awhile and commune. This green man has African features and wears a hat that is an elephant. This is his “familiar” – his protector – and it calls forth all the power, strength and courage of this African animal. There are some prominent Jamaican/African business people living in that area, and many Jamaican/African staff people pause under this tree as they walk back and forth from their jobs.

The green people are the philosopher and educators of the woodland. They are also the protectors. They are a mature, gentle race who, like trained warriors, are relaxed but alert and ready to move into action when required.

However, like most nature spirits, they exist in a different frequency range from our physical world. They work with the energies of their realm. These energies affect our physical human world, and should you choose to work with the green people, you can create a very strong energy in an area. But they can be affected by human destructiveness, and when someone comes in and destroys their area, they withdraw deeper into spirit and wait….. Once the destruction has occurred, they will eventually return and fight another round in their attempt to provide harmony to their domain. This can be hundreds of years in the making.

I met a green man in the Royal Gorge area of the Pacific Coast. His home was a very tall rock overlooking a river that had large, busy highways on either side. He had an Indian visage, and a feather formed of summer grass hanging down the back of his head. I was entranced by his beauty and sought to communicate. But what I received back was a blast of bitterness that surprised me.

“You humans,” he said. “Look what you have done!”

When I looked down, I could see, from his point of view, how we had desecrated his beautiful territory with our rushing, fume-emitting cars.

“There will come a day,” he said, “when all this is gone – but we will remain.”

He sent me an image of the beauty of the valley below restored. And then he stopped speaking and said nothing more.

Green people are distinguished by their facial armor. Celtic images portray these as leaves that spread out from their face; in trees they are depicted as bark.Mystic Greenman Plaque

This facial armor, at peace, lies relaxed and back from the face. When they want to impress someone (perhaps a lady green person), they will puff out the armor – like a peacock fan – and it looks full and beautiful, as in Celtic depictions of the green man. When they are in warrior mode, the armor comes forward even more and forms a protective shield around their face.

Green people age, but at a different rate than humans. In old age the facial armor becomes flaccid. Here is an elderly warrior green man from New Hampshire.
