Do you recall on those long trips your children asking, “Are we there yet?” Then some time later asking the same question? That is why we brought along games or traveling projects to do. It is a probability that we who are on spiritual paths may be asking the same question. Some have been on a spiritual path for a long time, others just beginning and wondering when will we get to the end?

The length of the trip makes us ask how close we are, “Are we there yet?” The simple answer is, if you trust who you are and what your goal is, it doesn’t matter where you are in your journey. No one else can tell you, only you can know your progress. At any given moment on your journey you are exactly where you are supposed to be. How you respond to it is another matter entirely.

A spiritual path requires work to be done. That work requires clarity and focus, what may be called pathworking. You will be required to perform as many projects as was your child on the long trip to Grandma’s house. Your task will require breathing, centering and grounding many times along the way. You will be asked to clear old beliefs (faiths) that are no longer working for you. Then you will create new beliefs that will enhance your progress. Those parts who are your inner selves will be required to get in line to assist you. Your wounded self will be required to understand the reasons behind your traumas learning the lessons necessary to move forward.

If you were to look at the world situation today and ask the title question, what would be the response given back to you? There would be those who might be questioning the progress of the journey. Yes, there is violence, and negativity here and there, but look closely: the shift is happening. You may have progresses from a previous sticking point. Many spiritual people are trying to make the shift, and in many respects it happens one person at a time.

If you are judging by what is going on in your life, whether positive or negative, it is a reflection of your inner growth. There have been lessons learned, perhaps some have not, and you are given a second chance. You may have difficulty moving forward, but it is not impossible to do so. It has been said by many over time that “the dark night of the soul” occurs only when we have the ability to surpass it. Nothing happens that does not have a solution: it is designed to move us forward on our paths. Remember to carry on your journey breathing, clarity, grounding and centering. They are the tools that will help you pass the time until journeys end.
