Mystic Merlinite (referred to geologically as Indigo Gabbro) is a stone of deep magic and spiritual understanding, formed from the knowledge of wizards, shamans, and elementals. Historical Folklore

Mystic Merlinite is named after Merlin, the legendary wizard of Arthurian lore. It should be noted that another stone named Merlinite exists, but said stone is actually Dendritic agate, not indigo gabbro.

Placing this stone under your pillow while you sleep has been said to cause intense lucid dreaming and even astral travel.

Geology

Mystic Merlinite also goes by the more “geologically correct” name of Indigo Gabbro. Gabbro is a type of coarse grained igneous rock which is formed by the slow cooling of magma deep beneath the surface of the earths crust.  A large amount of the earths oceanic crust actually consists of this gemstone because it readily forms along underwater ridges and plate boundaries. Oftentimes, other minerals are mixed into this stone’s makeup. It is typically a deep blue or black with light blue or white markings. This stone is primarily sourced commercially from Madagascar and New Mexico.

Health Folklore

Folklore states that mystic merlinite can aid the nervous and respiratory systems, as well as strengthen the blood and heart.
