Historical Folklore

Stichtite was first discovered in Australia in 1910. Its name comes from Robert Carl Sticht, the manager of a copper mine near where it was found.

Chakra Association

This stone is associated with the earth star, base, heart, third eye, and crown chakras. It is believed to helps raise Kundalini Energy through the chakra system. 

Astrological Association

This stone is associated with Virgo.

Health Folklore

Stichtite is said to support the skin, teeth, and gums. It is also said to help children with ADHD.

Geology

Serpentine

This stone is classified as a carbonate mineral that only occurs alongside Serpentine. It is formed through the alteration of the mineral Chromite found within the serpentine.  While this mineral itself is lilac to magenta in color, the green seen in specimens is the serpentine that the Stichtite has formed alongside. The only Commercial source of this stone is Stichtite Hill near the Dundas Extended Mine In Tasmania however it has been found in various other locations since its discovery.
