blue ginghamThe ghost of a young girl in a late 1800s prairie gingham dress stood under the pine tree outside my window and looked inside forlornly. Gigi, an attractive and eccentric artist, had come to me for a personal consultation. She kept seeing beings walking about her bedroom at night, especially when the moon shone in, and wanted help understanding what was happening.

The young girl was sad and just stood there, waiting. I could see that she was connected by a psychic silver cord to Gigi so that wherever Gigi went, the young girl had to also go.  Gigi was unaware of this and was unburdening herself about the personal issues that had brought her to me.

The sad young girl kept trying to get my attention. “Please, I have something to ask of her,” she kept telling me. Finally, the child’s persistence was so strong that I had to interrupt Gigi.

“Do you know anything about a young girl in a gingham dress from the last century? Does that mean anything to you?” I asked.

Gigi blanched and for the first time in the session stumbled on her words, then fell silent. “Yes,” she said softly. “Why do you ask?”

“Well, she’s standing outside the window, under the pine tree and she wants to talk with you.” I turned my attention to the child. “She says to please let her go. Do you know what that means?”

Gigi started crying and the story burst forth from her. She was aware of the child, in her dreams. She had always had recurring dreams of being a pioneer woman, living on the plains in a small home. One day there was an Indian raid and her child was killed.

I looked at the child and studied her energetic form. Slowly a shape emerged. “Was it a hatchet in the chest?”

Gigi cried more. “Yes.”

I studied the scene inwardly, traveling back in time and space to observe. “Well, you gathered her in your arms and swore you would never, ever forget her. And the problem is, you haven’t…you linked your consciousness and hers so closely that she has remained with you, in the spirit world, ever since. She would like you to let her go, so that she can transition into the light, find rest and continue her own story.”

Gigi was quiet, absorbing the information, understanding and acknowledging that this felt truly the correct thing to do. We linked to the child psychically and together worked to pull out the hatchet from the child’s chest and cut the cords where they were attached into Gigi’s naval area.  We cauterized the cords on both sides, mother and child, and then sent the young ghost to the light.

“Thank you,” the child said to us as she left. Then, directing her focus to Gigi, she reassured her, saying, “I will never forget you.”
