Medium Tumbled Sapphire

We’ve been able to source some very beautiful Tumbled Sapphire. While not these do not have the clarity a jeweler would like to see, they are the largest pieces of tumbled Sapphire that we’ve been able to offer for metaphysical use at a reasonable price. They vary slightly in size, measuring between 5/8″ and 1″ in length and have some reddish brown textured areas throughout their deep blue surface.

Generally, Sapphire is connected with Virgo. it is the primary stone of Saturn and the birthstone of September

Geology

Sapphire is a variety of corundum, a crystalized form of Aluminum oxide which takes on a vast array of colors, of which only a particular shade of blue is considered sapphire. Corundum is a precious gemstone with high grade specimens fetching extraordinary prices throughout history. It is one of the hardest materials known to exist, second only to diamond. Its wide range of colors is the result of its ability to hold trace amounts of iron, titanium, vanadium, and chromium with each of these imparting their own color. Sapphires distinct blue color results from Titanium and Iron being the primary coloring agents. Ruby, another notible corundum, develops its prized red coloration in the presence of Chromium.

Typically the worlds finest Corundum specimens are sourced from Sri Lanka as the islands unique geological history has led to an abundance of high clarity brightly colored specimens. High quality Sapphires of a slightly different coloration can be found within the United States in Montana along with other areas of southeast Asia, Australia, and Brazil.

Tumbled Sapphire Care

All gemstones are unique and special. Variation in color and inclusions are natural and to be expected. We have selected all of our stones for their high vibration and quality. Bathe in full moonlight regularly to energize crystals. Cleanse regularly by placing your Tumbled Sapphire on a piece of selenite or by moving through the smoke of sage. These stones can be gently washed with soap and water if necessary.
