Battle with the Wood Elves
Starting at: $3.50
How would you like to live locked in a never-ceasing battle? That is the story here, beautifully told in the trunk of a Live Oak. To the right is a masked figure, gone a bit middle-age soft, who is sporting a very battered left eye that is oozing sap. He is looking to his right, at two smaller nature spirits - one an elfin warrior, the one above him the usual protecting familiar. The elfin warrior is staring eye to eye with the masked figure, and the elf appears to be winning the battle. This is one of the complex stories that occasionally appear, and make me marvel at the ability of the natural world to mount an entire story in a natural form such as a tree trunk. Learn More -
Bear Mound Spirits
Starting at: $3.50
This is a section of Bear Mound, WI. Built by some long ago native civilization, the effigy mound is one of many in Devil’s Lake State Park. In the late 1890s, locals began preserving the mounds, uncovering them from wild vegetation. It is believed the mounds were used in ceremony to connect the populace to the energy of the animals and the land. Here a shaft of sunlight has produced not only lens flare but also, in the changed frequency of the light, shown some orbs – some have happy faces – and the energy of a man of the late 1890s, seen as a white plasma in the lower right part of the trunk. GUARDIAN OF THE VALLEY. This bear totem, manifested in an ancient Burr Oak, is a nodal point protecting a peaceful creek valley; the tree is shown far right and a close up of the bear’s face far left. Across the valley, in another nature spirit domain, is a feminine nodal tree. The two trees are anchoring points in the local earth grid, and help hold the energy of that area stable, peaceful and clear.
