The sacral chakra is known in yoga as the Svadishthana chakra. It is the second major chakra in the seven-chakra system and is considered the real seat of Shakti, the feminine creative energy of the universe. The sacral chakra is comprised of a series of chakra points located just below the navel and accessible from the front and back of the body.
The sacral chakra area governs our emotions. This chakra provides us with the ability to love and be loved in an emotional way and is the seat of our primal feelings. When properly functioning it flows with life, creativity, awe, enthusiasm, open-mindedness, flexibility in adapting to new situations and the ability to cooperate amicably with other people.
